Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. One of her first TV appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played her role. The parents of her did not want her to take on acting roles until she was an adult fearing the effect of stress. Perry was a shy teenager and did not act. The actress began her acting career in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends as she moved to the university from Boston University. Perry made her debut as an actress in New York after graduation, landing minor roles in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry return to California and pursue a career as an actress in the theater. Perry's mother and I appeared on Broadway as a couple as part of The Other Place, in 2013. She performed with their father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 at The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. In 2017, Perry was a part-time character in ABC's thriller about politics Scandal that starred her father. She was also cast in The CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger of Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mom. She was cast in the role despite her close relationship with the character's family.
